Sony’s ambitious The Beatles—A Four Film Cinematic Event (dubbed the Beatles Quadrilogy) has secured an impressive writing team. Joining director Sam Mendes are acclaimed scribes Jack Thorne (Harry Potter & the Cursed Child), Peter Straughan (Wolf Hall), and Jez Butterworth (Spectre).
The four interconnected films, each from a different Beatle’s perspective, will star Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), Harris Dickinson (John Lennon), Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr), and Joseph Quinn (George Harrison). Filming begins in 2026 for a unique April 2028 rollout—one film per week.
With full rights granted by Apple Corps, this project marks the first authorized scripted retelling of the band’s story. Can Mendes and his A-list team deliver a historic cinematic event? Fans will find out in 2028.
