Presley fans from around the world attend to listen to some of his best friends and family members reveal little known facts about the King of Rock and Roll.

Linda Thompson, dated the King of Rock and Roll from 1972 through 1976. Their relationship lasted four and one-half years.

Thompson was Presley’s longest relationship after his marriage to ex-wife Priscilla Presley. They first met at the Memphian movie theater after being introduced by record promoter, Bill Browder.

In an interview with Elvis.com.au, Thompson revealed, “It was the middle of July in Memphis and it was very humid, just sweltering. He had on this black cape with a high collar and a red satin lining and I said ‘dressed a little like Dracula aren’t we?’ so you see, we both shared a sense of humor that was very much like the other.”

She added, “We just hit it off immediately because we grew up in Memphis, we had the same religious beliefs, the same love for our family, devotion to mother and father. We had the same sense of loyalty, we enjoyed the same cuisine because we were both Southerners.”

Thompson devoted herself to the musician, living and traveling with him for years. However, during the Christmas season of 1976, less than a year before Elvis’ death at the age of 42, the couple split. In 2022, Thompson told the Daily Mail she believed Presley had cheated on her.

She told the king, “Honey, if there’s another woman, just be honest with me.” Even after Presley told her he loved her, she walked away from the relationship.

She added, “I wanted a life and most of all I wanted to be a mom, but knew I could not bring a child into this crazy lifestyle.” However, Thompson maintains Presley was the love” of her life even after marriages to Bruce Jenner and David Foster.
